About Dr. Allphin
Dr. Allan L. Allphin is a board-certified Otolaryngologist who completed his training at Case Western Reserve University. He completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and his medical schooling at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Allphin has served as a department chair for over 15 years, vice chief of staff and chief of staff at a level 1 trauma center for a combined 14 years.
Additionally, he served as the president of the Missouri Society of Otolaryngology and the Southwest Missouri chapter of the American College of Surgeons. After spending his career in Springfield, Missouri working in the Mercy Health System, he decided to expand his career opportunities by moving to Grand Junction. His practice extends from head and neck surgery to a sub-specialization on pediatrics including airway evaluation and treatment in a busy NICU and PICU.
His areas of interest include ear infections, sinusitis, and breathing problems including nasal obstruction, sleep apnea, and subglottic stenosis, choanal atresia, congenital neck masses, foreign bodies of the upper aerodigestive tract, hoarseness and voice complaints, and lacrimal stenosis.
When Dr. Allphin is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, 5 children, and 12 grandchildren. He also enjoys all of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer including gardening, water skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and swimming.
